The Challenge

We Give Black is a powerful three-day festival in Baltimore that celebrates Black-led change, collective giving, and cultural excellence. The event needed a website that could capture the energy of the in-person experience while serving as a central hub for attendees, sponsors, vendors, and community partners. The challenge was to design a site that balanced function and storytelling—providing easy access to the event schedule, speakers, and tickets—while honoring the culture and movement it represents.

We approached the redesign of the We Give Black website with speed, structure, and purpose.

Instead of starting from scratch, we reimagined the Preston template to align with the festival’s bold energy and community-centered mission. This allowed us to move quickly while still delivering a polished, custom experience.

Through rapid prototyping, we tested navigation, hierarchy, and visual flow early in the process to ensure users could easily explore events, vendors, and community partners. The result was a streamlined, mobile-first design that balanced function and storytelling, giving We Give Black a fresh and cohesive digital presence just in time for the festival launch.

The Solution

  • Streamlined Festival Experience – A digital guide for attendees before and during the event.

  • Increased Community Engagement – More visibility for sponsors, vendors, and local Black-led organizations.

  • Stronger Cultural Identity Online – A site that reflects the soul of the event and builds momentum year over year.

The We Give Black website mirrors the heart of the festival—bold, joyful, and unapologetically rooted in community. It serves not just as an event guide, but as a digital celebration of Black philanthropy and leadership.
